The natural world continues, from its raw beauty to the joyful surprise in the everyday.

Mira Caie Artist based in Cupar, Scotland

Hi there!

About

I’m Mira Caie (pronounced Meera Kai) joy seeker and creator of contemporary art and illustration.

It all started as a kid. I loved to draw, paint and make a mess with my hands with anything I could find. I loved to play and reimagine the world around me and I’d scribble and experiment with colours and materials, becoming blissfully lost with my treasured stationery or be fascinated with the sights and sounds of visiting a brand new place, or by the vivid colours and patterns of a saree shop.

I always wanted to be an artist, but life provided different challenges and opportunities, luckily all leading me to here…a precious chance at a creative life. So, once again I can play in my imagination and embrace the unexpected surprises in the everyday.

Join me on this creative journey with an open heart, you will amaze yourself where it will lead.

My work is often inspired by cyclical changes in seasons or discovering a new destination on our beautiful planet. Even the most surreal or fleeting of moments can leave an impression deep in my consciousness and will find a place into my work.

Living close to the stunning Scottish coast and wild woodlands also helps hugely. I am fortunate to live where there is an abundance of natural beauty and endless inspiration.

I turn this inspiration into several experimental sketches that can lead to a painting or design often built up in layers. I work in a wide range of mixed media from acrylics, watercolour, pastels, digital, textile and ink on various substrates in a range of sizes and finishes and am open to taking on commissions for something extra special.

I create visual art in mixed media and digital illustration.
